In 2017, Verizon continued their support of chat services by becoming the corporate sponsor of the Chat en Español pilot program.

And in court last Monday, Verizon lawyer Helgi Walker made the company's intentions all too clear, saying the company wants to prioritize those websites and services that are willing to shell out for better access.

"One in three teens will experience abuse in a dating relationship and more than two-thirds of them will never report it to anyone," said Marjorie Gilberg, executive director of Break the Cycle.
